Oracle
My First Company. I joined here on 16th June 2011.
First 10 days , we had induction classes. those ice-breaking sessions are a real headache for me. they ask us to play , run , collect things etc etc. damn i hate them. i think we had some best trainers for that. the HR manager Niranjan Joseph was good. he made us played a game which i remember. in it, a person have to say about him, what he likes, name etc etc. if any1 shares something with the previous person, they have to come forward and rescue him/her from the so called 'HOT SEAT'.every1 rescued the other person when they say that they love cooking , singing. there was one gal called Elsa Philip. i wanted to rescue her right when she said her name. i raised my hand also. but he didn't see it!
we are not allowed to take photographs inside office. I still don't know why?
I have also heard that only in India , they check bags for security purpose.
Feel bad when my country is degraded .(where's the God damn crying smiley?)
One of the Good things i find about oracle is obviously their HEFTY salary( i learnt that word when i went to see principal of my school. He said like 'I know you guys(IT Guys) get a HEFTY salary'). i feel like some of our seniors are not at all happy with it coz they got this much salary only after working till their brains turned to scrambled eggs(dialogue from movie Inception). One thing i like about Oracle( i use a fake American accent now to pronounce Oracle, people don't understand what i say at first, later i clear them out. I feel so elated). I Like the WORK CULTURE.Everyone calls every other person by his First name. that is a sign of mutual respect. I found it very difficult first. I used to call every1 SIR. they say don't 'SIR' me, call my name. whenever we need some help, they always reply and things go very smooth.co-workers are very helpful and good. Infrastructure provided for us is great! One more thing to comment about Work culture is that we are not required to wear any particular dresscode. Oh !! that was a real ... what would you say... relief for me . i hate cozy outfits.
we were sent to Banglore(Bengaluru or whatever) for training. i heard that that building is bought on lease for approx 1.5 crore(i assume its not a Confidential information. people can guess the price of building)
